Nexus Group Measurement & Verification

Measurement and Verification (M&V) is the term Nexus Group uses for the process for identifying savings delivered by an energy efficiency project. Measurement and verification documents how much energy the owner/operator has avoided using, rather than the total dollars saved. Cost savings can be affected by many factors, like energy prices. The measurement and verification process enables the energy savings delivered by the ECM to be isolated and fairly evaluated.

Nexus abides by the established protocols for good practice in measurement and verification, including the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) which defines common terminology and the important steps in implementing a thorough M&V process. We always follow the same rigorous standards required by government facilities. Nexus customers can always expect high-quality work at a lower cost.

As part of our standard process, Nexus Group performs measurement and verification before and after an efficiency project has been implemented. This allows us to accurately report on the real savings provided by either comparing whole building energy use or maybe just a few electrical circuits. Weather data and other variables are considered during this process just as they are in the monitoring service and the level of detail monitored is determined by both project complexity and client needs.

Contact Nexus Group to be your trusted Mx for your facility or your next build or renovation project.
